The economic interest grouping was created to boost the IGAs of women entrepreneurs in the Centre East region. It was created in 2019 with 20 members.
The GIE/CIFEA has three (03) production facilities including:
In Bagré, the fish processing facility which aims to enable member companies operating in the fish sector to improve their smoking and marketing activities and to support fish processing ideas through the use of gas and/or solar ovens.
In Tenkodogo, two (02) processing units are being put into service in connection with the processing of cereals (millet, cowpeas, maize) and cassava.
The objective of these facilities is to enable women in these segments to improve their production and to support innovative ideas for finished products, financing and marketing.
Thus, GIE/CIFEA markets several product qualities according to the sector:
Cereal-based products: (Maize Couscous, Small Millet Couscous, Cowpea Couscous (Birba), Maize Biscuits, Small Millet Biscuits, Cowpea Biscuits, Diet Flour, Dèguè Grumeaux, Pre-cooked Porridge Grumeaux, Cowpea Spaghetti, Maize Spaghetti, Small Millet Spaghetti, Cowpea Macaroni, Maize Macaroni, Soybean Macaroni).
Cassava products: Attiéké, Gari, Tapioca, Starch, Cassava flour, Cassava biscuit.
Fish products: Dried fish, Smoked fish.
